To create an environment that allows our wounded heroes and their families the opportunity to utilize and maximize their educational benefits without financial burden.
This environment will have dignified transitional housing, the nurturing support and job skills training needed to properly transition our veterans back to a productive life.
First, I want to take this opportunity to personally thank our nation's heroes for their sacrifice and service to our great country.
Veterans Moving Forward is committed to ensuring that our nation's veterans are given a second chance to live a full productive life.
Our mission is to allow wounded veterans the opportunity to utilize and maximize their educational benefits, in order to become marketable for the 21st century workforce.
Since September 11, 2001 there have been approximately 1.5 million service members that have left the military.
As the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan continue, most experts speculate that the large number of our wounded and disabled veterans will continue to increase.
Our veterans face unique challenges when they are medically discharged or retired at such a young age.
Currently, the average age of our returning wounded veterans are between the ages of 19- 25, most of which have minimal educational backgrounds, skills or work experience in the civilian sector.
Because of this harsh reality, our veterans are relegated to lower paying jobs in order to support their families.
As a nation it is our duty to help support our veterans, our heroes who have sacrificed themselves by defending our everyday freedom.
